Indonesia and Russia Strengthen Creative Collaboration Through the Gaming Industry

Jakarta, October 6, 2025, The Indonesian Game and Digital Content Association (AGKDI) today received an official visit from a Russian delegation led by the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, along with representatives from the Agency of Creative Industries (ACI) and VIDO (Video Game Industry Development Organization, Russia) at the AGKDI headquarters, Jakarta.

This visit marked an important milestone in strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and Russia in the creative industry, game development, and digital content, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AGKDI and VIDO.

  • Mr. Maksim Semin, Head of Game Hub Infrastructure Development Project, Agency of Creative Industries
  • Ms. Ekaterina Vilchikova, Head of the Department of International Relations and Strategic Development, Agency of Creative Industries
  • Mr. Alexander Bodrov, Deputy Director General of VIDO
  • Mr. Aleksandr Krichun, Economic Attaché, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation in Indonesia

VIDO (Video Game Industry Development Organization) is Russia’s first industry association focused on developing the national gaming ecosystem. The organization represents over 300 members and industry experts, ranging from development studios and publishers to educational institutions and legal and business professionals.

Through this visit, the two parties discussed the potential for strategic collaboration in various fields, including :

  • Joint development of Game Hub in Indonesia and Russia.
  • Talent exchange and training of young developers.
  • Collaboration of international activities such as Moscow International Video Game Week and Indonesia Game Experience (IGX).
  • Joint research and exchange of gaming industry market data.
  • Joint investment and game development that highlights the cultural narratives of both countries.

Hendri Andrigo, Chairman of AGKDI, stated :
“This partnership is not only an industrial collaboration, but also a cultural bridge between Indonesia and Russia. Through games and digital content, we can share cultural values, innovation, and empower the younger generations in both countries.”

Mr. Mikhail Demidenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, said :
“Moscow has a long tradition of developing the creative industry. We see great potential in collaborating with Indonesia, which has a vibrant community of young gamers and developers. This collaboration paves the way for cultural exchange and creative technologies.”

Mr. Maksim Semin, Head of the Project Office on Game Hub Infrastructure Development, Agency of Creative Industries, added :
“We hope this collaboration will strengthen the development of Game Hub infrastructure and bring together the creative ecosystems of both countries. Indonesia is an important partner in building cross-cultural digital bridges.”

Mr. Alexander Bodrov, Deputy General Director of VIDO, emphasized :
“VIDO is committed to expanding the Russian gaming ecosystem to a global level. Indonesia has a tremendous market and creative talent pool. Through this MoU, we are ready to foster collaboration in content production, technology development, and knowledge exchange.”
