AGKDI Presents Synergy of Technology, Culture, and the Creative Economy at IGX Surabaya 2025

Surabaya, August 17, 2025 – The Indonesia Game Experience (IGX) 2025 Surabaya successfully took place from August 14–17, 2025, at Fairway Nine Mall in Surabaya. This event marked a significant milestone in combining technological innovation, the gaming industry, cultural preservation, and empowering the local creative economy.

As a key driver, the Indonesian Game and Digital Content Association (AGKDI) affirmed its commitment to making Surabaya a center of digital culture in Indonesia.

“IGX isn’t just a gaming festival. It’s a collaborative space that brings together gamers, developers, government agencies, communities, and even MSMEs to elevate Indonesian culture into the digital realm,” said Hendri Andrigo Sutanto, Chairman of AGKDI.


IGX Surabaya 2025 Main Event Series

🎮 eSports Competition: More than 1,500 gamers competed in various popular games such as Mobile Legends, Free Fire, and Counter-Strike with a total prize of IDR 50 million.

💡 The 6th TechSummit: Carrying the theme “Digital Intelligence for Urban Innovation”, it presented national speakers such as Dr. Ir. Feri Arlius, M.Sc. (Director of Facilities & Infrastructure, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia), Ir. Soegiharto Santoso, SH., and various digital technology experts.

🛍️ IT & Culture Bazaar: Featuring 20 leading IT brands and 50 cultural MSMEs presenting handicraft products, culinary delights, and collections of traditional Indonesian keris.

🌏 IGX National Roadshow: Surabaya is the second city after Banten, before continuing to Semarang, Bandung, and Jakarta.


AGKDI as a Catalyst for the Digital-Cultural Ecosystem

AGKDI Secretary General Tommy Mualim emphasized that the presence of IGX 2025 is a momentum to prove that the local gaming industry is capable of becoming a driving force for the creative economy based on Indonesian culture.
